Alethea Spangenberg, LPC

Welcome! I’m Alethea, founder of Radiant Minds Therapy.

Growing up in Austin, I developed a deep love of people, food, and sunshine. I value connection in its most authentic form, and never turn down a chance to nap with my cat, Lucy, or run around with my puppy, Ezra. I enjoy music of all kinds and speak fluent sarcasm. On weekends, you’ll find me spending time with others, doing most anything outside, or planning my next travel.

I approach therapy with your individual story at the forefront of my focus and will draw from various therapeutic techniques throughout our time together.

I have extensive experience providing individual therapy, facilitating intensive outpatient groups, and psychiatric inpatient work. I am certified in DBT and trained in CBT, and work hard to create the most individualized experience possible for each client.

Each session will be tailored to both your immediate concerns and long-term goals to help build the life you desire. I am not here to pass judgment or to choose a path for you - my role in our relationship will be to add another perspective and challenge you to find your true strength and autonomy.

Katie Fischer, LPC

Hi there! I’m Katie. Born and raised in the greater Austin area, I enjoy dancing, being outdoors, and adventuring, often combining these in long “dance walks” around the city. My top two mantras are, “Safety first,” and “Be here, now,” and I strive to help others know themselves more deeply and express themselves more fully. I am also a treasure hunter and explorer of the natural world, and I love to laugh, prefer to be in movement, and ask a lot of questions!

When we explore, stay curious, and grow in awareness, we initiate the change we desire, which leads us to whole-health. As your therapist, I hope to serve as a guide to empower you to rely on your own strength and inner knowing. You know your experience and personal journey - I am here to offer a fresh set of eyes, suggest new perspectives, and help you explore and take your next step. Providing a safe space to do this hard work, I welcome all forms of expression and will go at your pace as you challenge yourself, make changes, and hopefully find movement in the “stuck” areas.

How we do this depends on what you need, and I will use a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques to reach your personal goals. Some of these methods might include: CBT (targeting thought patterns to initiate change), DBT (focusing on regulating emotions), mindfulness (staying in the present moment to help you ground), and movement-oriented and body-aware approaches (because we can’t just talk about it!). My clinical work includes individual counseling, intensive outpatient groups, and psychiatric inpatient work, providing me extensive experience with mental health journeys of all shapes and sizes.
